The Ruapehu arrived in the stream early yesterday morning, and, after being declared clean later in tho morning, berthod in tho afternoon at .tho King's Wharf to disembark her draft of returning soldiors. Tho vessel left Plymouth on Juno i', and arrived at Newport News on Juno 19. Sho waß at that port six days coaling, The vessel passed through the Canal on July 2. Ab usual, the American residents in the canal zone treated the soldiers royally, there being an abundance of fruit and periodicals thrown 011 board. The Rosamond was to havo left Oainaru late 011 Saturday night for Tima.ru and Wellington. On completion of dischargo hero tho vessel is to load for Duncdin, Hailing probably on Thursday, Tho Kokiri, which arrived at Wellington 011 Saturday night, is to proceed back to Greymouth to load for Wellington and Now Plymputh. Tho l'e Anau, which has been undergoing overhaul at Port Chalmers, was to havo loft Dunediii on Saturday for Lyttelton, from which port she proceeds to l'lcton to load produce for Onchunga. Tho Kaino is to sail from Wellington for Greymouth to-day. Tho Katoa is to leave for Westport today. The Komata is to "rocce'd to Westport to-morrow, taking passengers. Tho Arahura has been delayed at Auckland, consequently there will be no boat from Napier to Gißbornc to-night. SHIPBUILDING RECORD. It has remained for a Pacific Coast shipyard ,to establish a new record for sicel ship construction in tlie United States, if 1101 for the world. The Columbia River Shipbuilding Corporation launched on May 8 last from its yards 011 the Willamette River, Portland, Oregon, the 88W deadweight ton steamer City of Eureka, just 27 working days after the laying of her lioel 0:1 April 5. It was anticipated that tho entire outfitting of this vessel would be completed on May 17, which should mako her ready for her trial trip, just thirty-six days from the beginning of construction operations. This is also believed tu be a world's record for vessels of this typo.—"Shipping World." FAITH SOLD. ' Tho famous ferro-concreto steamer Faith, which was the subject of much comment all over the world when rho waß launched at San Francisco, last year, nud was looked upon as tho beginning of a now era in shipbuilding was lately sold to tho. French-American Lino for 453.CC0 dollars (£M,OCO). The Faith is a vessel oi 3WC torn gross, 320 feet long, 44 feet 0 inches in breadth, and 30 feel in depth.
