' For a long time.there has been, a stumbling block to the show ring in the. way of the small breeder who cannot afford to keep an export trimmer of Bheep and who is tillable to- do it himself, and to meet this position the insertion of tho following classes ill tho Manawatu A. and; P. Association's schedule has teen approved .of. There is 110 intention of deleting the old'classes, which will remain as formerly, but it is hoped that the new classes will ultimately replace: the old ones and eliminate the escessivo trimming of sheep:— :, llomney Marsh in Natural Condition. The Sheep Committee recommends that a separate division be inserted in 1919 schedule, with similar classes to the present ones, for Hoiuuoy Marsh sheep in. a liaturaj' condition. -Prize money for came lias been privately subscribed. Conditions.—A • declaration must be made on the entry form stating (1) tho actual date sheep wcro shoriy (2) that they were shorn evenly and close to the skin; and (3) that the wool has not been trimmed in any way since. Any indication's of artificial colouring or oiling will disqualify. A light cover may bo used to protect the wool ,in rough weather and during transit, ■, This year due allowance will bo made for sheep that have been crutched. Judge recommended—A. Matthews, Featherston.
