After interviewing a deputation from the Union Congress, Senator Miilen announced that the prospects of a settlement of the seamen's strike are more hopeful now than they have been for some time.—Press Assn. FEDERAL COUNCIL RECOMMENDS RESUMPTION (Ree. July 27,- 5.5 p.m.) Molbourne, July 26. The Federal Council of the Seamen's Union has agreed to recommend the seamen to resume work forthwith. The Government has given an undertaking to summon a round-table conference to deal with the various existing disputes upon the resumption of work. Meetings of branches of the union will be called in the various centres to ratify the councils decision. / Senator Millen says that thereis every prospect of work being resumed next Thursday, pending the conference and the subsequent arbitration proceedings. —Press Assn.
