ARREST OF A SUSPECT. Since the iast Wellington race meeting guests staying at several of the city hotcle have complained of the loss of much of their luggage, including suit-cases and contents and overcoats. The '.natter was reported to the police, and yesterday Detective-Sergeant Scott and Detective Torrence arrested a young man, who will be charged before the Magistrate's Court this morning ivith theft. It is understood that one of the offences with which the accused will be charged is the removal from a tram-car of a passenger's! suit-case. A quantity of the stolen property, including three suit-cases, one brief bag, nnd two overcoats, has been recovered by the police.
