The weekly meeting of ,the Wellington Busby Football League was held last evening. ■ , ... ~ , The City Council wrote stating that Au'iisl 'i and 23 had been allocated tor representative matches, and one other dale on. Newtown Park. Canterbury ■wrote accepting the date ollerwl for a match at Wellington,' viz., August' 2. Owin" to the curtailed team arrangements, it was decided to write to Auckland asking them to postpone the match for the Northern Union Clip until latei in the season, when it is probable that the train service may improve. Hawke's Bay also wonted a match, but the train service adso prohibited that tor the present. ,' In connection with the Canterbury match, it was decided to write to tnn council for permission to piny a match as n curtain-raiser, and to offer the game to the Association body. The team to represent Wellington neainst Canterbury will be selected on Monday next, and tho team will ,bo selected only on recent form. Canterbury a.re expected to have a very nno combination. The fixtures fox Saturday next were drawn as follow.;— Senior-A Mitotic v. Suburbs, nt. Newtown Park,' referee Mr. C. Murphy; Petone .A. v. Poteno B, at Petone, referee Jlr. A! House.
