MAKING IT "TOO HOT"
Sir,—The following letter, apparently wrongly addressed, reached, me in my correspondence this morning: Dear Robert,—l don't often chortle, but I did this morning when'l read your letter in The Dominion about the bonfire nntj the shivering children. Of course, lam not blind to the fact that such a humanitarian epistle is worth a few> votes, but don't you think it might cause some heartless capitalist' to inquire what suffering (cold comfort if vou prefer it) lias been occasioned the women and children owing to miners' strikes during the past twelve months? Already you know there are suggestions floating around that though we condemn exploitation in our opponents wo look with favour on the trauiwaymen's attitude. We must not make it too hot, Robert.—Yours fraternally, Peter Freezer, I am sure the letter was not meant for me. Have you any idea who would write like this?—l am, etc., B. LUFF. July 21,
