STEAMERS HELD UP
CREWS REFUSE TO SAIL.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, .luly 21. A number of steamers were held up at Auckland during the holidays owing to 10 c1 mm s re ' us i u S to take the vessels to eea. The vessels were the Kutoa, Arahura, lioromiko, and 'Jlanaia ut Auckland, and the Pateena und- Rarawa at Oneliunga. The intentions of the crews ' ot the iuttcu, ICoromiko, and Arahura v> ere known on Friday, and rlio vessels' departures were postponed accordingly. The Manaia was to have sailed for Wha- . ugarci at 10 p.m. on 1 Saturday, but' shortly before sailing time the crew refused to go to sea before 10 p.m. io-dav. The Pateena arrived at Onehunga from Wellington at 1 p.m. on Saturday, and wa' to have sailed for Wellington an liou after, but tho crow refused, and tho vessel's departure was postponed until to-morrow. The Rarawa arrived at Onehungo. from New' Plymouth on Sunday morning, and was to have sailed again at 3 p.m. to-day. Owing to the action of the crew the trip has been abandoned, and she.will sail at the same time ou Wednesday. ,i
