THE WEATHER
FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for westerly winds, strong to gale, changing to . south-west shortly in the south. Weather unsettled and equally, with rain probable generally, and heavy rain and rivers flooded on the West Coast and southernmost districts of the South Island. Barometer fall, but rising in tile south shortly. Fair weather ruled on Saturday, but cloudiness increased on Sunday, and unfavourable change has 6ince taken place. Rain has fallen to-day in parte, especially in districts with a westorly aspect, and north-west winds have prevailed and have increased in force. Westerly disturbance is now enveloping the Dominion.
