PORT NICHOLSON YACHT CLUB
At Friday night's meeting of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club a letter-was received from the Admiralty stating that I those members who have warrants to fly the Blue Ensign may now do so. Occasion was taken to welcome hack Mr. ft. Bothamley, an old member and one time secretary of the club. Mi. Bofbamley !i»3 just returned by the KiRoinn from active service with the Royal Naval Reserve. His duties kept him in close contact with the- Grand Fleet. at Seapa. After the business of Hie ovening was concluded, Mr.. Bothnmley made somo very instructive and interesting remarks on tlio subject of the latest British men-o'-war. Mr. Bothamley 'reports tliat Now Zealanders in tho Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve held, rheir end up well. No men from any part of tho Empire, Great Britain, included, li.wo bo Rood a record as the -fellows who havp ohtnined tho rudiments of t'hoir sea training in the various yacht clubs of the Dominion. Both in the practical part of boat handling and ii> the theoretical part of navigation Now Zealnnders mado tlioir ninrk.
