LADIES' HOCKEY
—. —« MEETING OP N.Z. ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the New Zealand Ladies' Hockey Association was held on Wednesday evening. Mr. J. G. Cusack was in the chair. The following delegates were present:—Hisses Atkinson J.Uawko's Bay), Day (Canterbury). Tolley (l'eilding), Nolan (Manawatu), Hicks (Otago), Simons (Wellington), Simpson (Taranaki), Wcllsby Bay), Macintosh (Southland), aiid Fulton (South Canterbury). ■' An objection was lodged by the Manawatu Association to affiliation by 'the Feilding Association. A letter from the Manawatu body stated i hat Teilding was already affiliated to Manawatu, as a sub-association. The chairman stated that Manawatu had not previously claimed Mlding aB a su'b-association, and therefore tho objection, in his i pinion, was out of order. , "Miss Tolley stated that delegates from Fielding had never been invited to attend meetings of the Manawatu Association. , Miss Simons moved and idiss Fulton seconded that the Feildlng Association be affiliated. This >vas carried. A letter requesting that tho next ladies tournament be hold in iiisborno this year was received from the Poverty Bay Association. Another application was received from Canterbury, asking that the tourniunent should l>o held in Christclrurch. Miss Nolan moved that the tournament be hold in I'overty Bay. This was seconded. Miss Day slated that it was probable, if the tournament were lieitl in Gisborno, that few teams would inako the trip. She moved an i.nicndinent, tlmt the fcotirmiim-nl: should bo held in Clu'istchurch. It was decided, on the mstinjj vote of the chairman, to hold the tournament at Chrislehurch. The tournament will be hold in the lirst week in September.
