The Ministry of Food has purchased 100,000 casks of Danish butter for delivery before the end of October. Regular weekly shipments have commenced. The price has not been disclosed, but is above 1725. per cwt., f.o.b. The Ministry is also purchasing a considerable quantity of Canadian butter, aud is offering to purchase 25,000 tons of Canadian cheese at 25 cents per pound, f.0.b., but the present flrice in Canada is about 30 cents. Pending the result of the Ministry's offer, other buyers .aire holding off.
