MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. The Mayor (Mr. S. Stone) presided over the meeting of the Miramar Borough Council held last evening. There wero present Councillors J. Hicks, E. J. 'Barnett; B. F. Gardiner, E. Collie, and Mrs. M'Vicar. ■. The Mayor announced that it was intended to hold a-small peace demonstration on Monday .for the children of tlia district. It was decided to proceed with the work of boring for water in the locality indicated recently by Mr. Clarke, the water diviner. _ The Mirnmar Municipal Association wrote, complaining that the lights in the tram shelter were not showing. It was decided to instruct the borough engineer to attend to the matter. The same association wrote with respect to the nuisance of wandering stock. The engineer reported that.it would cost .£BO to provide the borough with a pound. \fter some discussion it was decided to refer the matter to the Wurlw C'ommitI teo. .....
