TOWN-PLANNING AND ORIENTAL BAY
• Sir,—Will you spara we a little 6pace in' your valuable paper reg-arding the beautifying of Oriental Bay. I notice our City Fathers aro beautifying-the bay b.; placing a band rotunda on ono side of the parade, and on the other side, opposite the telephone box on (he highest point, where ono can see from almost any part of the city, l.ave given permission to build a rusty tin shed, an eyesore to anyone thiyt, has tight to see it. If those persons to whom the property Ijelongs could see the awful sight the shed gives to the bay, I am sure it_ would not stand there five minutes. What a beautiful background for those nice dwellings on the foreground, many of them costing thousands ft' pounds. If this is wliat our City Fathers call townplianiiing and beautifying, why not add to it a coat of paint which would put a littlo better appearance on it. Ido not presume to say such building should not be permitted, but what I do say, it should not be permitted to remain in its present condition. Hoping some more able ■ pen than mine will take up this matter,—l am, etc., . BEAUIIFIER.
