METHODIST CHURCH
WELLINGTON SOUTH CIRCUIT. • The quarterly meeting of the Wellington South Methodist Circuit was held on Monday evening, the Rev. E. Drake occupying the chair. The Rev. Dr. Pinfold' nnd a fair number of officials were present. In reply to a letter front Thorndon Circuit it was decided to promise co-opera-tion in any movement for the closer unity of the Methodist churches in Wellington. Membership return's showed 325 senior, and 109 junior. Income from collections showed .£254 55.; <£12 ss. 3d. was raised for foreign missions, and <£20 ISs. for anniversaries. In addition, about £10 had been contributed through special efforts. Tho report of tho Val Triggo mission, which was held at Donald M'Lean Street Church, was most inspiring, showing that largo congregations hadjisserubled and that deep impressions lind been made. Sunday school repor s were, nl6o satisfactory. • Arrangements were made for tho visit of the Rev. T. G. Brooke, tho Fome Mission secretary, durinc the ensuing quarter. Subject to a satisfactory examination, it was decided to place Mr. R. C. Burton on the local preachers' plan "on trial. .
