- — 1 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. - 'The twenty-fourth annual general' meeting of the shareholders cf tho Thorndon Bowling Club, Ltd., was held last evening in the club's pavilion. Colonel R. '• J. Collins, C.M.G., presided, and there was nn excellent attendance of members,' The report has already been published. The statement of accounts for tho year ended May 31 last showed that receipts totalled .£494 14s. 2d., as against ■&199. 16s. Id. in the previous year. The expenses, amounted to .£442 ss; 3d., as compared with. .£44(1 125.. ild., and tho .credit balance is shown- ot .£52 ?s. lid., as against ,£53 3s. 2d. The assets include freeiicM property'and premises i; 3000, leasehold property ,£475, and- plant,_ furniture, etc., J2IOO. The principal liability is a mortgage of i!260f1. Tho excess of assets over liabilities amounts to .£912 18s.. lid. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the president said that tho yrork of the club during the past season had been marked with great progrofs. The membership had J.ofc decreased nnd as they had now one of the best greens in the city he anticipated that' ihere would be many new members join-, incr the club ili tho coming se;.scn.'
