PREPARING FOR ACTION. By Teleerauh—freas Association. Christchurch, Julx 15. ■ A meeting of tlio Influenza Epidemic Organisms Committee was neld to-niglit. The Mayor said he had vailed the meetins in order to get the organisation gains for two reasons, firstly, because spring was near, and, secondly, because largo numbers .of people would be congregating together. . Various matters of organisation were arranged. In the course of a letter the president of the Christchurch Division of the British Medical Association said: "I am directed to inform you that, contrary to tho statement of the District Health Officer, my Division does" not consider that the differences between .its members and the Health Department have been settled, and it has been left to the individual members to take'action as they think fit for the payment of 1 heir Tierk during the epidemic. However, my Division wishes mo to state that it ia agreeable to form a medical block system and place it in the hands of specialists and other medical men not in general practice, and that these men .working the block system Shall be. paid ten guineas a day for their services."
