WOMEN HEALTH PATROLS
APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED. By TeleirraDh—Press Association. Christchurch, July 15. "The following appointments 'if women health patrols have been niade by.the Public Health Department :-W»llington -Mrs. C. J. Elliott; Christchurch—Jlre. M. Stringer and Mrs. C. Clough; Dunedin —Mrs M. A. Cameron; and Airs. J Murray. These ladies will take tip their duties on July 31. The Auckland appointments have not been finally decided, and one other "Wellington appointment las yet to be made. • The Hon. G. W. Russell said that tho primary object in view was to conserve | the health and general welfare of young persons of both sexes. The bdies would be officers of tho Public .Kealth Department, under the direction cf the District Health Officer, but for special purposes they, would be invested with the powers of tlie police, and these powers would be ustid where necessary to make inquiries with regard to. any matters t.at called for accurate information as to \houses and their occupants.
