FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for high and squally westerly winds, backing to southerlies everywhere soon. Expect cold, unsettled conditions, with further rain probable generally, and snow on tho higli country of the .South island. Barometer falling in the north, but rise.everywhere soon. Atmospheric pressure has continued lon in the south, and lina decreased in "the north to-day. Moderate to strong westerly winds have, prevailed, but a southward gale waß reported at Nuggets this afternoon.
