SHROPSHIRE BERTHS. , The liner Shropshire, after having been in tho stream since Sunday morning, Berthed at the Railway Wharf yesterday. Tho most conspicuous features about tlio Shropshire are her fivo masts aud her squat funnel amidships. Tho Shropshire has done plenty of war service. She was ono of tho ships that comprised the first convoy of vessels that left Australia with t.ho first contingent of the A.I.F. Bho waß engaged in carrying Australian troops to tho war zone until March, 1918, when sTie proceeded to New York and took on board a draft of Amcrieau soldiers. Sho was actually tho first vessel to arrive at Havre from New York direct with American soldiers, though there _were plenty of Americans in Franco at, tho time, they having gone via England. Her la-st trip, prior to coming out here, was to the River Plate. There she loaded a careo of meat for Genoa !n November, 1918, arriving at tho Italian port early in 1919. From Genoa she proceeded to Avonmoutli aud embarked 1101) troops~l'or Adelaide) and Melbourne. Tho Shropshire left Avonmouth on April 2 and arrived o.t Capo Town on April 24. Sho was at Adelaide nn May 14, at Melbourne on May 21, and at Sydnoy on May 23.
