Tho New Zealand Lojin and Mercantile Agency Company, ; Limited, Hawera branch, report as follows:—At Ivaka-ramea, on July 7, wo had a moderate yarding of sheep" and cattle, -which sold well -at tho following prices:—Good forward cows. £10 2fj.' to iUO 195.; store cows, £6 to £7 10s.; boilers, £1 15s. to £4 65.; 18-20-month empty heifers, £5 lis. to £6; weaner steers, £3 13s. to £3 145.; f.m. ewes, £1 4b. 6d. to £1 55.; store lambß, lis. 6d. to 16s. 6d.; hoggets, 18s. 9d. 'to 225. Tho advertised springing heifers on account of Mr. J. F. Williamson averaged £13 16s. 6d. They were a choice lot in the pink of condition, and met with keen composition, making £11 to £16. At Ohangai, on . July 8, wo held a successful salo on account of Mr. John Casserley. Best dairy cows mado £20 ss. to £23; others, £15 10s. to £19 10s.; backward, and aged sorts, £9 10s. to 1 £12. At Eltham, on Wednesday, we had a good yarding of cattle and practically the whole yarding changed hands at the following rates:—Good forward cows, £9 to £9 155.; others, £8 9s. to £8 155.; store cows, £6 17a. 6d. to £7 43.; dairy cows, £12 to £15 155.; springing heifei-B, £9 ss. to £9 155.; weaner'Bteers, £2 17s, 6d. to £3 125.; weaner heifers, £2 to £4 10s.; wcaners, mixed sexes, £2 7s. to £3 13s. 6d.; f.m. ewes and wethers, ISs.; f.m. wethers, 16s. 6d.; fat ewes, 1 295.; f.m. owes in lamb, 15a. At Meremere, on Wednesday, we had a clearing salo on account of Mr. J. F. M'Gregor, and high prices ruled throughout. Best dairy cows mado £20 10s. to £M; others, £14 to £18 10s.; backward and aged sorts, £9 to £11; springing heifers, £11 155.; Bmall 18-month empty heifers, £4 to £4 55.; small mixed weaners, 225. At Hawera, on July 10, wo had a, full yarding of both Bheep and cattle.
