REMISSIONS OF FINES
. MILITARY COURT AT WORK. The special Court of Inquiry recently set up by Defence Headquarters to consider applications for. remissions of fines and forfeiture's incurred by members of the N.Z.E.F. on active service is continuing its work, General G. S. Richardson, Officer in Charge of Administration,, ia president of this board. Consideration of ' application for remission is given only in eases where the soldier lias a clean record for six months, where lis has been promoted in the field or where he has received an award or decoration. The board lins decided 'hat it will refuse to grant remissions in the (ases of serious offences such as desertion, insubordination to an officer, self-inflicted wounds, theft, uttering forged documents, or ab-, sence from duty during action.
