STATE CAPITALS AND GOVERNORS
,\:< AusmiiAN anachronism. London, July 11. Tho "Daily Chronicle" approves the representations ir.'v-ic by Mr. W. it. M'l'liei-son, the Victorian Slate Treasurer, regarding I lie State Governors. His suggestion that Lion tenant-Governors should act for tho ■ States is reasonable and sensible. Since tho federation of Australia, the Governor-General has become the rop'rosonlaive of Royalty; and there is no reaton why a. variety of petty courts should exist. State capitals and fa'talo Governors am an nnaohronism.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
