ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
■' AN OLD MAN'S DEATH. An inquest was held by (he coroner, Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., yesterday on Francis Merelyano, 7(1 years of age, a native of France, who resided at No. 1,1 Holland Street. The deceased died sud- ] denly at his residence on Thursday, at 5.45 p.m. He was a storekeeper, but had retired for a number of years, and was well known in AVellington. Bis wife is at present a lyatient at. the Wellington Hospital. SUnku Letica gave evideneo to (he effect that the deceased had complained of pains round Ihe heart, but had previously enjoyed good health. The deceased told witness on Thursday morning that ho was not feeling well, and fell tired. Ho was not ill enough to call in a doctor. He found the deceased dead in his room at 5.15 p.m. His Worship returned a. verdict to Iho effect that tlin deceased died from natural causes.
