DUE HERE ON AUGUST 18. ,Tn view of the general uncertainty (hat appears to prevail as to the data of the visit to Wellington of H.M.S. New Zealand, with Admiral Jellicoe on board, an'inquiry was made from Captain P. 11. Hall-ThontpsQii. R.N. (Naval Adviser), as to whether there was any change in the plans of the Admiral. Captain Hall-Thompson said that. H.M.S. New Zealand was originally timed to reach Wellington on August 18, and he. had no reason to believe that that data would not be. adhered to. At present Admiral Jellicoe was visiting the Islands (New Guinea and Thursday Island), and the New Zealand was in Jetvois Bay (Now .South Wales). The itinerary of the ship, which will be controlled through the Naval Adviser's Branch of (he Defem-o Department, is now under consideration, and the programme of entertainments and receptions is being prepared bv tho Internal Affairs ]>Miiihenf. The Hon. O. W. Russell said yesterday that the localities visited by the ship would be expected to make their own arrangements, -bile the.Govemment would nrobably-arrange suitable excursions for the instruction and entertainment of the officers and crew so fa? as circumstances -would jtermir.
