A case in whioh Mnsterlon has displayed a great deal of interest was heard at the Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr. S. L. Free, S.M. The caso was brought by D. W. Hagerty (Mr. Eobinson), who proceeded against W. Boyd and Mary Boyd (Mr. Burridge) for M 2 55., damages for an assault on tho plaintiff alleged to have beer, made by Mary Boyd on tho evening of Juno 27. /As a result plaintiff alleged that ho had been caused grievous bodily harm, had lost two weeks' wages, and had incurred medical expenses. Evidence wont (o show that Hagerty was struck by some_ person and severely injured. Some of tho witnesses for the plaintiff expressed themselves as certain that defendant was tho assailant, but members of the Boyd family declared that Mrs. Boyd did not leave the houso on the night when tho assault was said to have taken place. Mr. Free, in delivering judgment, said the evidence was so nearly balanced that ho did not feel justified in finding for the plaintiff; neither did ho think the defendants had established a east!. Ho would therefore non-suit the plaintiff. Defendants would be allowed costs amounting lo £3 2s. In the Board, of Guardians elections in London, Labour secured 131 seals cut of ■157, with majorities in Poplar. Woolwich, and Stepney. A blind Indy, Mjss Vnnce, headed the poll in ono of the St. Pancras wards.
