0 The todies of the Dorset Society entertained tho men.at the lust meeting of the society. A novel feature of the en-tc-Tluinment. was that every lady hud' to (jive an item or pay a fine of one shilling. If any man wished' to contribute an item ho couM do so on payment of two shillings and sixpence. The evening commenced'with a ■•oinpetvtion for men, tho prize being won by the president. The second competition, was open to all, the first and second prizes being won respectively by Miss K. Poole and Mrs. Brown. Tho jiinsi.»l programme commenced with a pianoforte solo by Miss Trim. Songs •'■ere .•ontribiited l).v Misses, Randall and Kelly. MesdaniK Itiscnek. Trim, and Moore; violin solo. Miss Hiscock; dance. Miss Kelly; dinMisses Monre and Trim. Songs were given by the foliniving:—Mossr*. Brown, S. Brown, Jim., lliscick. Moore, Hayward, and Major AVaito.-The accompaniments were played liv Misses Hiseoclc, Trim, .and Mr.?. Kelly. During supper Mrs. .Moore presented (a Miss Hayward. on the occasion of lier approaching marriage, a token of esteem and regard from the Dorset Society, wilh every good wish for her happiness in the 'future. The health of Mr., Mrs., and Miss Hayward was drunk with musical honours. *Miss Hayward suitably replied, also Major Waite ami Mr. Hayward. Tho 6ongs of "'Home, Sweet Home," "Auld Lang Syne," and "God Save tho King" were then sung, which brought to a close a most enjoyable and successful evening. •
