Messrs. Wright,* Stephenson and ' Co., Ltd., report having offered a largo yarding of sheep at the Oolomob P.oad yards, Hanterton, on Wednesday. There ,was a good attendance of buyers, bidding was brisk, and a total clearance- was effected under the hammer at satisfactory prices. Quotations : J -2-tooth to f.f.m. ewes in lamb to Lincoln rams, 356. 3d.; mixed age ewes in lamb, 28s. 2d.; Rood 2-tooth wethers, 335. 5d.; small 2-tooth wethers, 245. 6d.; m.s. woolly hoggets,. t4s. Flet- s oher'e, on Saturday, to a (rood, attendance of buyers, representative of all por-, tions of the district and Manawatu, we offorcd the pedigree and grade Jersey Btock and' ordinary dairy herd of. 75 flows. 'Ilia demand for tho pedigrees and grades was exceptionally good, pedigree cows, ranging from 27 to 90 guineas, the latter price be,ing paid by Mr. S. It. Lancaster, the well-known Jersey breeder of Palmerstnn North, for Mountain View Velvet, the same purchaser also securing Naomi's Fairy at 60 guineas. Pedigree 2-year heifers sold at from 30 to 32\ guineas, and yearlings at 25 and 26 guineas. The grade 2-year springing heiferß were a particularly nipo ouality, selling at from All to £14 55.; 3-year-olds malting from £12 to £14; pedigree bulls to 27 guineas. The dairy herd was well-known in- the district, princes ranging as high as £35 55., which i» almost a record for the district, eoveral others making from £20 to £3(1, the herd of 75 head making tho satisfactory average of £17 65.; 10-months grade heifers. £sfs.: h.s. hoggets, 235. 3d.; harness gelding, £27; breeding sows, to £6; porkers, 255. At Mr. J. Woolridge's, Mango malre. on Monday, we offered a dairy herd of 40 cows and other- stock, implements, sun dries, etc., to a fair attendance of buyers.. The dairy herd waß only a moderate one, and owing to tho fact that very littlo information could' be supplied cf tho calving dates, .etc., no exceptionally high prices were reached, top prices being £10. The 40 head, including 3 cows, sold at £6 10s.. £5 155., and £7 ss. (backward calvcrs), making an average of £12 12a. per Head, which, under tho circmiistanccß, must be considered fairly good; 3-year heiferß, in calf. £12 17s. 6d, ; 2-year ompty heifers, £s'l7s. 6d.; weancr heifers, £2; 2 bulls, £10 55.; breeding sows, £6, £7 !ss„ and £9; slips. 255.; weanors, 155.; 6tack of hav. £42: turnip crop, lili 2s. »d. The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-opcrativo Association, Ltd., report on tho clearing; sale held on account of Mr. G. H. Grim mer, Mai'tiubnroitgli. on July B:—The cows were in good condition, and met with keen competition from buyers from a'it parts of the Wairarapa. Tho average price, £20 12s. 6d„ for 63 cows, must ho a. record for the district. The 13 three-year-old springing heifers made £16 !55., tho empty 2-ycar heifers, £5 165.; small weauer calves. 16s. to 265.; b.f. hoggets, 16s.
