The annual meetinj; of the New Zealand Trotting Conference will le held in the Now Zealand Society of Accountants rooms, Johnston Street, to-day, at 10 a.m. The Trinity Band of Hope held its monthly meeting in the Trinity Schoolroom on Wednesday evening. There was a large attendance, and a very interesting programme was submitted. Sours were contributed bv blisses Martin and Baillio and Mr. Burton, recitations by Misses L. Roberts, L <Uoyd, and Mr. Barley, a pianoforte solo by Miss E. Phillips, and an address by Mr. 11. Chisholm. The dialogue "First Prize' filled the second half of the programme. Tho Rev. E. Drake occupied the chair, and Miss Webb presided at the piano. A start has been made with the erection of the buildings in Woolslon for tli» Kaiapoi Woollen Company. They are te be used for hosiery and cap factorial, and are to cost about .£W,OOO,
