The position in Auckland in regard to coal supplies for industries and domestic use is still acute, and dealers arc limiting their deliveries to three bags. '1 he liceus of essential industries a,iv being watched, and fuel is allocated (o them as supplies arrive. Two coal boats aro due shortly, and should somewhat relieve the position. WEST COAST SAWMILLS NOT AFFECTED. Greymouth, July. 0. Tlie co.u shortage, has not affected the local sawmiliing. The Coast mills tan keep going so long «s there is sullicient coal to run the steamers, ami the existing train .service is not reduced. Timber is ti'ill being shipped to Wellington and Lyl'oltoii. The output couid be improved if more si'.wmilljiiul coal workers were available. Tlie Mayor has telegraphed to Dr. Thacker asking him to endeavour lo get the Saturday express restored, as tho present arrangements aro quite unsuitable, and aro causing the public great inconvenience.
