An inter-Allied Conference) of Associations of Pure and Applied Chemistry, which was held at Parrs recently, concluded with a banquet, at which Jl. Loucheur, French Minister of Keconstruction, presided. ~.,', , . Tho conference lias laid the fonnrtation for an inter-Allied Chemical Association, to replace the-Internationa Association of pre-war times. Details of their decisions have not been made public, but it may- l>o said that the lmtia. tivo of M. Paul Kessnor, of Lille president of the French Society of Industrial Chemistry, has attained its just reward. ~ , ~ , The programme on which they have settled meets with the unanimous approval of all tho delegates. It is hoped that the position of the new association, whose duty it will be to defeat German competition in tho chemical industries, will attract tho adhesion of all neutral countries. ~1.1 Among tho 350 guests present sit the banquet were Lord Moulton, Sir William Pone, president of tho British Federal Council, Professor Henry Louis, whowaa head of the British delegates, Mr. Henry Wi""lesworth, the chief American delegate Professor Chavftnne, president ot the 'Chemical Society of Belgium Profoa=or Pnterno, Vice-President of the Tlalinn Senate, Professor Moureu, Al. Paul Kessncr and M. Poulenc, presidents of the three principal French associations of applied and pure chemistry, and many other well-known men in the chemical and industrial world. :.■
