A TIMELY DISCOVERY
* ■ FAMILY NEARLY SUFFOCATLD. By Telegraph—Pr«ss Association. Auckland, July i. A family named liueastle. residing in Newton, had a narrow escape fruni suffocation this morning. The family were in bod, and one of them was awakened by the smell of smoke. Tho building was filled with smoke, and after assistance was obtained all tho occupants were got out .safely. Mrs. Rucastle was so overcome with ihe fumes that she was sent In Ihe Hospital. The cause of tlieiaccident was the fusing of electric wires, this causing dense fumes to be given oil' from the casing on the wires.
