POULTRY SHOW

4 One of the very bkst shows hold by the Wellington Poultry, Pigeon, Canary, and Cat Society was brought to ii close last evening, The judges regarded the utility poultry exhibited io be exceptionally fine all round. The best bird in the poultry section was a black Orpington hen, exhibited by Mr. F. Marriott, of Ngaio. In fancy Miuorcas, Mr. .7. Eagles was the most successful exhibitor, Mr. L, G. Brown securing the most prizes with Brown Leghorns, both fancy and utility. In Andalusians, Mr. T{. L. Archibald proved tho most successful, securing two firsts and a special. Mr. G. E. Fearn was tho most successful exhibitor of golden pencilled Hamburg*. Mr. V. H. Blair and Mr. W. Lingard rlividetl tho honours for silver spnngiecl Haniburgs. Messrs. Doip and Thomas, although they met with strong competition, wero the urincipal prize-winners for Wyandottes. • Mr. Skclly had it all his own way with Rhode Island Red (rose comb), and for single combs lie .had to share honours pith tho Rev. W. V. Stent. In/(ho utility class for Rhode Island Keds, Mr. K. M'Whirter won the chaimiiouship. In lioming' pigeons, Mr. H. H. Lippill; secured the prize for the best bird in Die section. Tn fancy pigeons Messrs. W. Barley, W. R. M'lu'iizie, and 0. Cnllings were (lie most successful exhibitors. In Yorkshire canaries Hie Yitetta Bros. ai)d Mr. G. Abel were the most successful, tho latter securing the championship. Tu Norwich canaries, Mes-rs. H. E. Airth and E. Biillen wero Ihe successful exhibitors. Mr. J. Gnlpni secured the most awards in the section for roller*, and Yiietlii Bros were the principal prizelakers for mules. * A fair business was done in the sale of birds, Rhode Maud Reds in particular sellins exlromely well, a cock bird realism': Jiii.' Black Orpingtons also sold well. There was a largo sal'c forianarics, up to £5 being paid fur a roller.
