ALLIES' REQUEST FOR A SETTLEMENT. ■ New York, June 28. The New York "World's" i-orrespondent at Washington learns chat France, Britain, Italy, Japan, and tho United States have joined in requesting China to amicably settle the conflict between north and south China. It was made plain that the Powers did not intend to interfere with China's internal ,-ffairs, but the .desirability of a settlement of the fighting was pointed out.—Aus.-N.Z. CaMo Assn.
