At the Dominion conference of tramway employees it was resolved to urge the Government to refuse to sanction the introduction of a "one-man car" on the grounds that a car minus a conductor was unsafe, that the responsibility on the motorman was too great, and that the safety of life anl limb warranted the retention of the dual system at present in vogue. The action of the Transport Advisory Hoard in linking up with the Miners' Federation was approved, and it was agreed to grant affiliation to the officers' unions.
