Troon's popular evenings for seafarers was given at the bailors Fnond Sooiety on Tuesdnv, arhen the audience showed its pleasure bv insistent encores. , The performers werci Mesdames Vare and Mueller, Misses Sliand, Griffiths, V. Mueller, Troon, J. lewis, Messrs. Sol lick (Waimana), Shaw, and Irasor (Ngahere). Miss 'Griffiths and Mrs. Vare were at tho piano. "Does Beer Block the AVa.y?" was the subject ot Mr. Moore's temperance address. The competitions, for which tho prizes camo trom Neison and Mrs. Vare, was a rous. i.i.K one. H.M.S. Mallow provided tho winners.
