DAIRYMAN FINED
CHUEI.TY TO PIGS AND HORSES. By Telegraph-I'rcss Association. Cliristchurch, July 2. At the Magistrate's Court Cecil Jl'Donald, a dairyman, was fined £2 and costs for neglecting to provide food and beddine for fifteen pigs. The evidence given was that the pigs fed on tho raw flesh of horses, which defendant bought at 10s. each, and worked for a few days and then killed. On three charges of cruelty to four horses which wcro not supplied with sufficient food, ono being left lying with a broken leg, defendant was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, a heavy penalty being impossibly
