Two anchors were put out on, Saturday, and at high tldo on Sunday tho Terawhiti put on as much 'pressure as thy Kowhai would stand, but the vessel still remained ou the bcach. The Terawhiti has como to port for a few repairs, but it is thought that sho will not bo of much übo for a time, .as liavo' taiten off. Tho stranded vessel is to bo about 30 yards inshore- from low-water mark.
THE LAURA MISHAP. AH tho -water in tho .hold i f tlie barquentiuo Laura was pumped out yesterday, and a start was made to nuload her cargo of caso oils. TUo diver succeeded in stopping the main leak yesterday afternoon, and it did not take tho sailer's pump yery long to clear the hold of water. It now remains to be seen, when the vessel goc3 up on the slip, the amount of damage sustained to JiCr hull. " HORORATA AT HOME. Tho New Zealand Shipping Company has received.advico of the arrival Homo of the Hororata, which left Wellington on May 6. THE MOKOIA. Owing to the watersiders at Dunedin stopping work yesterday to celebrate tho signing of the Poaco Treaty, the dispatching of tho Mokoia from that port for tho north v.-as delayed a day, and rhe will not leavo there uow until Wednesday. Sho will leave Lyttelton on Thursday for Wellington, and will-leavo here in Friday for Auckland, via Napier and Gishorne. THE HINEMOA. Tho Secretary cf Marino (Mr. G. AUport) reports regarding tho movements, of the lighthouse lender fliuemoa as follows:—Tho Hinemoa finished landing at Capo Maria van ,Diemou last week, aud arrived at Kaipara on' Saturday afternoon. Sho was overnauling and'cleaning buoys there yesterday, and was. to continue tho work today. She is to leave late to-night or tomorrow morning for Mauukau, and tviil probably reach hero at the end of the week, then proceeding to tho Cook Strait lighthouses. The length isj2soft., tho beam 60ft„ and the depth 36ft.; and tho vessel will carry on her one and .only voyage—for sho will have to be broken up in order to get at her cargo-5,003,000 broad feet of timber. When launched she will be. in effect, a raft. Tills is not the first time timber has been taken from America to England by this means.
