By Telesrraph.—Press Association. Auckland. June 30. The coal shortage was further relieved to-night by the arrival of the/Katoa, from Westport, with 3300 tons on board. The Mayot stated to-day that the City Council had ample stocks of coal for the Peace illuminations, which would not accentuate the. present shortage. Soft coal was burned at the power-station, whereas the Gas Company's difficulty was in securing bituminous coal. SHORTAGE AT TIMARU RELIEVED.Uv -'{YlPirrauh—Pr«r.s Asfinciatinn Timaru, June 30. The Canopus has arrived from Westport and relieved tho coal shortage. The Gas Company was just out of coal.
