MAGISTRATE'S COURT
SATURDAY'S BUSINESS. Mr, P. V. Frazer, S.M., presided over Saturday's sitting of the Magistrate's Court. ■ William Fenton and Bert Aiding were remanded till July 2 on .a charge of vagrancy in that they were found by night oil the enclosed premises of 157 Riddiford Street, the residence of Mrs. Frank Jacobson. In asking for the remand Senior-Sergeant Willis said that there was a probability of more serious charges being laid against the .youths. The hour at which the accused ere alleged to have been found on the house was 1.30 a.m. on Saturday.
Nellie Wells and Michael Crowley were jointly charged with the theft of a quantity of silk -stockings, valued at ,£lO 10s., "the property of some person unknown. They were remanded to appear on July 2, bail being fixed at.,£so in each. case. On a charge of failing to account for a sum 0f,,£220 to the Jenkins Furnishing Company, a young man named Harold Albert l'eard was remanded till July 7. Bail, was granted in the sum of with' one surety of ',£l5O or Iwo of ,£75, on the application of Mr. if. E. Evans, wiio appeared for accused. For insobriety, ono first offender was fined 56. JUVENILIS .COURT. A fifleen-yenr-old Maori qirl appeared before Mr. F. V. l'razer, S.M.. al the Juvenile Court to answer a charge of I heft of a gold wristlet vi'leb, Kilned at .£" 75., the property of a fellow-pupil «c the \orniai School. The _watrl> had been inadvertently left «n » i"".m in the fdinnl for a few minuter and was stolen during the absence of the owner. After hearing the evidence, His Y.'irship adjourned the case for twelve ninths.
