On the present- occasion Wellington had ex-champions of New Zea'iand at the first five boards, but they could only add li points to the score between tliem. Tile local side dearly ow« their present win to the fine play of "the solid five" (boards six to ten inclusive). A word of praise is also due to Mr. S. Fau.lknor, who scored a forceful win in this his first representative match. '
