The marriage took place in Melbourne recently, of Mr. George Lewis (Ilori) to Miss J. Pratt, of Melbourne. Mr. Lewis, who is a brother of Mrs. Gordon-Weebor, of Wellington, left Now Zealand with tho Main Body, and was wounded at Gallipoli. On his return he joined the Post 'ami Telegraph Department, but later resigned, niul took a position /in Melbourne. Miss 1). Warracott and Miss Jean Pratt were bridesmaids at tho wedding, and Mi'. Phillips, also an Anzac, was best man.

WELSH SOCIETY A. social gathering of the "Welsh Society was held at the Y.M.C.A., Booms oil Saturday. There was a good attendanco of members and friends, and. a very pleasant evening was passed. - An excellent programmo in AV'jlsh and English was contributed, and was enjoyed bv all present. The following contributed items:—Mrs. Hatton and. Mr. T. Jenkins, duet in Welsh; Mra. Denning and Mr. T. ■Tonkins, duct in AVelsh; solos by Mrs. Hatton, Messrs. Amateur Athletic Club^Dance. The. Alexandra ' Hall presented a bright spectacle on Saturday evening, n, *' le Wellington Amateur Athletic Club lield their first annual dance, the main object being to further tlio social side of the club. The-walls of tho , hall wete. prettily decorated with orange' and green drapings, while. streamers of. the national colours of our Allies stretched across the ceiling,. and at the far end .of the hall the letters'of'the club were artistically carried out in the club's colours—navy and light blue. Flags also, laree'and small, adorned the suuner-room walls and pillars, and' tlio tables were bright with flowers, etc: Much credit is due to tho committee,' Messrs. Pollock. Kitto, Hodgson, Lusk. and Barker, nnd to tho secretary, Mr. C. L. Turnbnll, who woro untiring in their efforts to "further the evident enjoyment of the guests; alsD to a few of the ladv menijiers of the Ramblers' Hockey Club who assisted with sonic, of the decorations. During the evening a presentation of medals in connection with . the sports . was made by tlio Mayor, 'Mr. j. P. Luke. The ladies present included Mrs! Luke, who was wearing a handsome black gown - and white furs; Mrs. - Turnbull,. in black nilinn; Mrs. M'Kay, black over white; -Mrs. ."Kitto! black, the' bodice, draped' with 'emerald green; Mrs. Leslie in black nnd white; Miss Guise, ..blue' silk; Miss Downes, palo pink silk net over silk; Misses Parsonage. Hall, Janson, Watson, Wales and Morton.'
