Tho Railway Department notifies in our advertising columns its intention to curtail tho train services as from. Wednesday, July 'J. Tho alterations axe of .1 rather drastic nature.

Alt express and mail trains vrill be suspended. Travel between Wellington and Auckland will occupy three days. TIIO first stage will be by 2 p.m. train from Wellington to l'aJmerstou North, where tho traveller will remain overnight. The sccond stage will be 7 a.m. from PaJmerston North to Taiimantnui, arriving at the latter station about. 8 p.m., and then from Tatimm'unui at 7.15 a.m. on following (third) day. The down journey, Auckland to Wellington, will occupy a similar period. ' A train for Wanganui will leavo Wellington at 8.1 a.m., arriving Wanganui at' ti.2o pirn. Passengers for stations beyond Wanganui to New Plymouth will have to stay overnight at -Wanganui, leaving there at 7.35 a.m. next day. Tho Wellington-Napier journey i? served-by train leaving Wellington at !U a.m., And arriving at Napier at 9.15 p.m. A train will leavo Napier at 7 a.m. and reaoli Wellington at !) p.m. The Wanganui and Napier train from Wellington at 8.1 a.m. serves Palmerston North. There is also a later train at 2 p.m. for Palmerston North.

Trains leave Palmerston North .for Wellington at. 7 a.m. and 3.30 p.lll. On tho AVairaropa line the through moil trains havo been cut onit. 111 their place has been substituted a train from Wellington at 5.5 a.ni; for Maitorton and another train at 3.30, p.m. from Mast'erron for Wellington. Thore will be a connection between AVooflvillo and .Masterton with these trains on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. In place' of the morning service from M.uflterton to Wei. ling ton there will be a train leaving Mas-, tejjon at 8 a.m. 011 three davs a week— 'IVesday, Thursday, and Saturday—and thore will be an evening train" from Wellington at 4.28 p.m. on aurie days for Masterlon.
