SOLDIER SETTLEMENTS

The AVelliiißton Land Board has had a busy time this weak in dealing with applicants f«i A ' soldier-settlements. -On Wednesday ICS applicants were examined, and 101 went to the ballot for the Pihantea and Waiugawa sections, thrown open for settlement by relumed soldiers. This ballot was taken on Thursday, and Ihe successful applicants for four sections in the Waiugawa settlement, ranging from 9' acres to I7J acres were as follow: —Section 131. A. 1.. , Kvans: section 132. K- C. K. Price; section 13.1, L. fi Wooitett; section 137, W. .). Jackson. In the Pihaniea. settlement. consisting of 19-10 acres, subdivided into 27 sections, ranging from 'U3 acres to IGSj acres, the following were the successful applicants: —Section 1, D. C. .Stuart; section 2, A. (I. Heading: section 3, h'.' Welsh; section 1..D. P. Clark; section 5, .1. T. .[ones;-section G, C. B. .Smith; section 7, .1. M. Scott: section 8, W. Union; section 0 H. V.
