SUBURBS RIFLE CLUB
PRESENTATION OP PRIZES. * The Wellington Suburbs Defence .]tin> Club hold a, social gathering at Petor's'Schoolroom last ovening, r at which the prizes won during the season were presented by the Mayoress, Mrs. J. P. Luke. The Mayoress commented on the fact it was tho first presentation of frojTTiiee since the sipfhg of peace, and also referi'ed to the fact that it. was the late Governor of New Zealand (Lord Islington) who first opened tho club. She congratulated, the club on its successful season, and praised the trophy winners for their enthusiasm. The evening was devoied to dancing, there being a 'largo gathering of friends and supporters. The president, Mr. W. G. Tellingham, stated that ho had received iipolopies for absence from Brigadier-General Richardson, Colonel Collins, and the Mayor (Mr. JjV. Luke), all cf whom expressed their regret at 'being unable to be present. The following is the prizo_ list:— Club's Championship.— J. Smart, J. P.
