Official.—Mr. Justico Saukey's leport separately recommends the Government immediately to acquire all coal royalties, compensating tho owners, and to purchase the mines at a fair prico after tlneo years. Tho miners' delegates substantially agree with Mr. Justice Sankey, though Mr. Smillie, Mr, Hodges, and' Mr. Smith oppose the payment of compensation for royalties. The owners', delegates oppose the nationalisation' of tho mines, but. favour State co-operation with the owners, under the Ministry for Mines. They -do not oppo>>e the acquirement of their royalties if they receivo compensation. Sir Arthur lhiekham, chairman of the Advisory Committee of tho Ministry of Munitions, in- mi independent report, sums up against tho nationalisation of the collieries, lie says the Government should acquire the mineral rights.—United Service.
