' ..In tho opening event Guanaco was again a good favourite, while Goldshine, Orawia, jnd Doric were also well backed. There wiw some delny at tho barrier duo to the.riders of Doric, Miraniar, and ■Guaiiaeo trying to gain an undue advantage. At the start the last-mentioned was hopelessly left, and Doric led. from Sea Poani and'Orawia. Turning' into the 'straight Lady Kilworth and Goldshine were prominent behind tho leaders, but in the fuu home Doric easily hold the.advantage, and won easily from Orawia, Vith. Sea Foam close up, and-Guanaco, ■who finished fast, in. a lino with Lady Kilworth and Goldshine; . ;■ ' " For l the Hack Hurdles Movement was at a short price, Deformation ]K\n% tho only other horso backed with .any spirit.
