MENTAL PATIENTS
NEW STATE INSTITUTION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, June 21. Tho Hon. G. W. Russell stated to-day that it had been decided to make important chiinges in the system of caring for patients suffering from mental diseases. The Health Department had purchased for a State institution a property at Sockbura for patients who have meid intervals, and who should be placed in an establishment distinct from an ordinarv mental hospital. . _ The new institution would be in charge of Dr. Gribben, Superintendent of the Sunnysido Mental Hospital, and patients would be sent to it from other parts of the Dominion. Discussing the sohemo, tho Minister eaid it would not add to tho financial burdens of the Mental Hospitals Department. '
