RIFLE SHOOTING
. A NOVEL CADET CONTEST. . A novel shooting competition was introduced at the Drill Hall on Thursday night, at the dose of the cadet n.c.o.'s instructional class. The hoys wero divided into teams of six cadets caeh. Two trains fired at tlio fame time, and the targets were twelve empty jam tin*-", arranged in two groups of six. Jiacli tin represented a member of one of tlio teams. Jiacli team tired at tlio opposing team's tins, which were numbered, ami a cadet had to stop firing directly lift was told by the marker standing behind him that his tin had been struck. The team that kept men in action longest was the winner. The cadets entered this contest with tlio greatest enthusiasm, and carried on a series of . shoots as long as they were allowed. The 'slicnling took place, under the direction of tlio Group Commander (Captain AV.'M. Bell). Mr. C. 11. Osmond, president of the Miniature JtiHo Association, was ail' interested spectator. The regulations governing marking for musketry purposes liavi; been revised by tlio Defence authorities. The effect, of the change is to restore the Bisley method of marking.
