The twenty-fourth annual report and balance-sheet of the 'Tluirndon Bowling Club. Ltd., to be pre.-oiited at the general meeting of shareholders' on July 15, states that the finances are in much tho same position as the previous year. Tho item of wages is steadily mounting up. Thcro is a slight improvement in tho membership, and tho directors feci confident that during the coming season, the roll of members will be still further increased. Tho.directors regret to have to placo on record the death of Mr. A. U. JJxley, who had been a member of the club sinco 181)5. In accordance with clause 58 of tho articles of association til directors retire, but aro eligible for re-election with the oxception, of Messrs. Dimoek aud Wilson. PHTOAT3 CLU3. Tho -twenty-third annual meeting of tho Petono Bowling Club (registered) was held on Thursday night. Deep regret was expressed it tho death of Dr. M.. W. Rgsa, une of tho 'earliest aud most esteemed members. The annual report and balance-sheet showed a credit balanco of .M 3 ?s. Dd.. Tho winners of club competitions during tlio season wore:—Champion singles: Mr. R. Firth; champion pairs: Messrs, Divines and Wenrne; handicap pairs: Messrs. linrman and Walton.
