CHARGE AGAINST AN EX-SOLDIER
OP ATTEMPTING TO MURDER WOUNDED NEW ZEALANDEK. (Ree. .Tune 21, 1.5 a.m.) London, Juno IG. An ex-soldier named James liyan, living at Chertsey, was charged with attempting to. murder Private Algernon Worger, of the Otiiro Regiment, while the latter was in hospital at Ofttlaiiils Park; having lost a leg. Worger,- who appeared in Court with his neck bandaged, gave evidence that liyan attack-id him with a/' table knit'e. Ryan, when arrested, said that' W-orger stole his wift and four babies, and only Worger was aware of the wife's whereabouts. The hearing; of the case was> adjourned.--Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn,
